Meet Meggan, who recently celebrated turning 40 and accomplishing a goal 15 years in the making. Her running journey began at 19 while playing college basketball in Canada. She ran whenever she could to stay in shape, and soon after, she and her then-boyfriend (now husband) decided to tackle a half marathon. Life had other plans. A severe knee injury during a pickup softball game led to a spiral fracture, ACL damage, and years of surgeries, six in seven years! Doctors doubted sheโd ever run again and warned she might need a full knee replacement. Through persistence, physical therapy, and the unwavering support of her husband, Meggan gradually returned to running, taking it one step at a time. Their goal was to run a full marathon before her 40th birthday. In October 2025, Meggan completed the Spokane Marathon. The course challenged her with hills, but the crowdโs energy and the support of her husband kept her moving. Her goal was simply to cross the finish line and she did!!! Fifteen years after her injury, she achieved it. Marathon mission accomplished. ๐
